Hiring Cupid
By Jane Beckenham
Successful
businesswoman, Carly Mason is invited by her fiends to join them on a tropical
island, along with her gorgeous, and very sexy boyfriend. So what’s the
problem? There is no boyfriend. One night while out with the girls, and
temporarily insane, Carly made him up. Then, just as all-work-and-no-play Carly
is about to admit he doesn’t exist, fate delivers her Marco Valente, a knight
in shining armour.
So what if
Marco is wearing leathers and rides a motorbike. The charismatic Italian fits
the description of Carly’s fictional Mr Perfect. Who needs cupid? Before she
can stop herself, she makes a daring proposal and hires Marco to spend for four
long days…and nights with her.
On the island, they discover her
friends haven’t turned up and there’s no need to continue the ruse. But fate
gets in the way. With no way off, Carly finds herself unable to resist Marco’s
charms, and gives in to passion—a passion that seems every bit as perfect as
the fantasy. But then reality comes knocking. Will their newly discovered
feelings survive? Only if they can cast aside their past fears, take some honest
risks, perhaps then Cupid’s arrow will find true love.

REVIEWS: ***
Hiring
Cupid by Jane Beckenham is one of the most entertaining books
I’ve read recently. It is a delight, and I know I’ll read it again
in the near future, just to experience this love story again. *** HIRING CUPID is a scintillating tale with an interesting twist. The conflicts move the plot along at a good pace in HIRING CUPID. The main characters are very likeable and interesting yet also slightly flawed by their backgrounds. The interaction between Carly and her family was interesting and the scenes well written. It opens up another aspect as she deals with the chaos they insist on trying to get her to solve. It’s an interesting concept where a woman hires a gigolo and finds out he’s now what he appears to be. Sex and sensuality was written such in a way that suited the story. Parts of the story are filled with humor as the heroine does everything she can to stop her hunk from seducing her. The dialogue fitted seamlessly with the conflicts, style, and tone of the story. Written with energy and depth while the author also allows the reader to get know, and like the characters. There are also some unexpected twists and turns in the plot which makes it more than just another love story. The story flowed well throughout and the romance was refreshingly different. There were enough high and low points to keep the reader wanting to know what happens next. The sense of place was good and with luck, there will be enough gorgeous hunks such as Marco to go around. Pam @ Love Romance and More (Rated 4 1/2) *** Simegen.com Hiring Cupid takes the reader on a trip to love. Sit back and enjoy it. |
